World's biggest douche?
I can’t begin to explain how I feel about Ehud Olmert (Olmert rejects ceasefire as street battles rage). “The results of the operation must be … that Hamas must not only stop firing but must no longer be able to fire” Ceasefire? No chance. He’s taking them to the fucking wall.
I am by no means endorsing Hamas, I don’t know enough about the history to make informed comment on this one. Revenge, retaliation and hatred can only lead to destruction. The joke is the power of the Israeli state. The holocaust was a long time ago, and it was truly horrific. To let Israel continue down this path out of some kind of misplaced WWII guilt is farcical. The allies made this bed, simply voicing concern isn’t enough.

The US and Israel have free range to attack foreign land it seems. They got awaywith Lebanon, i guess they think its no big deal? I agree its a total joke. It always has been.

israel is simply sticking up for itself.
hamas felt that they could just blow up israelis for no reason yet keep the borders of their countries open for trade and employment.
so i ask you why it is seen to be such a crime that the israeli ‘military’ is defending itself when hamas and other ‘civilians’ within gaza deem it ok to bomb the israelis while also storing their weapons of war in places near school and civilian residences (which obviously aided in the higher death and destruction toll)
history clearly shows that arabs and the ‘original palestinians’ are stubborn and willing to kill anyone including themselves for such petty causes…maybe they should have just agreed to share israel in the first place???

i did state in my post that i really don’t know enough about the situation to make informed, and therefore authoritative, comment. i am not claiming that hamas is in the right and israel are evil. that’s far from the case and much too simplistic a view to ever be able to sustain. i just feel the constant revenge attacks on both sides of the conflict are fruitless and i don’t understand why both sides insist on continuing violence that is not only not solving any problems but only creating more.
to say that
is irresponsible and inflammatory. why is it a ‘petty cause’ on the palestinian side, and a divine right for israel? they are fighting for the same things – sovereign territory. i cannot provide any solutions, i don’t know who is right and wrong. unfortuantely there are innocent people on both sides of this conflict – and like any war or violence, it’s the innocent that inevitably pay the biggest price.
